I met Maverick and his mother for the first time this past Friday.

I knew of them, of course, as Maverick was in the same hospital as my nephew Lucas, and I had interacted with Rachel for weeks online, but this was the first time I got to hug her, to touch Maverick’s beautiful hand with its amputated fingers and to hear the pride in his mother’s voice as she spoke of her little fighter.

In the above video, you’ll get to meet the seven-pound, four-month-old who has Congenital Heart Disease. Maverick has defeated all of the odds because of his parents’ strong faith in Christ, but he needs our continued prayers.

If you haven’t already, consider donating to Heart Families by bidding in the auction happening this week, HERE?

I added EIGHT beautiful new items last night, including these Suzy headbands:

Handmade burp cloths by Lemon Squeezy and a fellow Heart Mama:

And this lovely pink satin romper:

And if you’d rather donate quietly, here’s a place you can do that.

I cannot imagine watching my son suffer the way Rachel has with Maverick; the way countless Heart Families do every day across the country–including my own sister in law and her son, Lucas.

We cannot create a cure. But we do know the One who can. And that, in itself, creates hope.

Thank you for doing that this week friends. For being hope and light and love for Maverick and his family. I’m so grateful for you, e.
